The Meaning of the Lord’s Prayer

The Meaning of the Lord’s Prayer,

To start off I am going to give you some history of how we have the New Testament today. There are two places in the Bible where the Lord’s Prayer was written, Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4. The most common one is the one that is located in Matthew.
The New Testament was originally written in Koine Greek (c. 330 BC–330 AD)

34 AD: The Lord’s Prayer was told. Matthew wrote down the most used version of the Lord’s Prayer in Koine Greek.
Πάτερ μν ν τος ορανος·
γιασθήτω τ νομά σου·
λθέτω βασιλεία σου·

382 AD: Jerome's Latin Vulgate Manuscripts were produced which contains all 80 Books (39 Old Test. + 14 Apocrypha + 27 New Test).
600 AD: There were over 500 poor translations most into Latin.
600 AD: Latin became the ONLY allowed translation of the Bible enforced by the Roman Catholic Church.
Pater noster, qui es in caelis:
anctificetur Nomen Tuum;
adveniat Regnum Tuum;
fiat voluntas Tua,
sicut in caelo, et in terra.
Panem nostrum cotidianum da nobis hodie;
et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris;
et ne nos inducas in tentationem;
sed libera nos a Malo.

995 AD: First Anglo-Saxon (Early roots of English language) translation of the New Testament Produced.
1384 AD: Wycliffe is the first person to produce (Hand-Written) copy of the complete Bible(80 books) into Vernacular English from Vulgate Latin. His Bible is now known now as the Wycliffe Bible.
And thus ye shall pray, Our Father that art in heavens, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come to; be thy will done in earth as it is in heaven
give to us this day our each day's bread;
and forgive to us our debts, as we forgive to our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
1455 AD: Gutenberg invents the printing press and mass produces the Roman Catholic Latin Bible.
1522 AD: Martin Luther's German New Testament is created.
Darum sollt ihr also beten: Unser Vater in dem Himmel! Dein Name werde geheiligt.
Dein Reich komme.
Amen.
1526 AD: William Tyndale's New Testament. The first mass produced English bible.
1535 AD: Myles Coverdale's Bible. The first complete Bible printed in English (80 books).
1537 AD: Tyndale-Matthews Bible. The second complete Bible printed in English. (80 books).
1539 AD: The "Great Bible". Or also called the Cromwell Bible. The first “Publish Use” English Bible (80 books).
1560 AD: The Geneva Bible. The first English Bible to add numbered verses to each chapter (80 Books).
1609 AD: The Douay-Rheims Bible. That was the first Complete English Catholic Bible.
I was only able to find the 1899 Douay-Rheims Bible
Thus therefore shall you pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our supersubstantial bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.
1611 AD: The King James Bible. Originally with all 80 books. The Apocrypha was officially removed in 1885 leaving only 66 books.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
1791 AD: Isaac Collins and Isaiah Thomas produced the first illustrated King James family Bible with All 80 Books.
1833 AD: Webster's Bible. It was a revision of the King James Bible.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
1846 AD: The Illuminated Bible; The most lavishly illustrated Bible printed in America. A King James Version, with all 80 books.
1885 AD: The "English Revised Version" Bible (ERV). The First Major English Revision of the KJV.
1901 AD: The "American Standard Version" Bible (ASV). The First Major American Revision of the KJV.
Pray then like this:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
   but deliver us from evil.
1971 AD: The "New American Standard Bible" (NASB). NASB says it is "Modern and Accurate”.
“Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
‘Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
‘Give us this day our daily bread.
‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
1973 AD: The "New International Version" (NIV). NIV says it is "Modern and Accurate Phrase for Phrase Translation".
I could not find the original version. I was able to find the 1986 version.
“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’
1982 AD: The "New King James Version" (NKJV) is Published as a "Modern English Version Maintaining the Original Style of the King James."
In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
2002 AD: The English Standard Version (ESV) is Published as a translation to bridge the gap between the accuracy of the NASB and the readability of the NIV.
Pray then like this:
"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
   but deliver us from evil.
2011 AD: The most common version of the Bible is the New International Version (NIV)
“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’
So if you did not fall asleep with that here is what each line means.
Matthew 6:9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
This is how Jesus tells his Disciples how to pray.
Matthew 6:9 “‘Our Father in heaven,
It refers that we are praying to our eternal father who is in Heaven which in term makes us at peace and just you and God the Father.
Matthew 6:9 hallowed be your name,
Hallowed is a word that means adored and honored. It is to make you feel humble at the feet of God The Father.
Matthew 6:10 your kingdom come,
This is for the second rule of Jesus Christ to come. We pray that Jesus’ second coming will come.
Matthew 6:10 your will be done
That God the Father’s will be done.
Matthew 6:10 on earth as it is in heaven.
That his power and glory may come to earth as it is in Heaven.
Matthew 6:11 Give us today our daily bread.
Some people think that this is the bread that Jesus gave to his Disciples at the Last Supper. In fact Jesus is not talking about bread to eat. He is talking about the Bread of Life, or commonly known as the Bible. He wants us to read the Bible daily.
Matthew 6:12 Forgive us our debts,
This passage means forgive us our sins. Many people think that it is financial debts but in the perspective it is sins.
Matthew 6:12 as we also have forgiven our debtors.
We are not just to ask for forgiveness from sin but we are to also forgive others sins.
Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation,
This is some more proof that Matthew 6:12 is talking about sin. This is a prayer for you (the prayer) not to fall into temptation or sin.
Matthew 6:13 but deliver us from the evil one.’
This is a prayer to remove us from The Evil One (the Devil), but the original test was neutral so it could be either evil ways or the Devil.

Now when you pray the Lord’s Prayer think of what each and every line truly means.

Chile Day 82:

Hello from Chile. I have been here for over 2 months. You might have viewed my photos and videos here. After 2 weeks of living here I felt that God wanted me to take a DTS (Discipleship Training Class) with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) while I am down here. I live with 5 other guys from: Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and 2 from Chile. I have learned Spanish fast and well down here. I live just a few houses down from where I was originally staying. The Lord has blessed me in many ways down here. Everyone here has come up with many nicknames for me. I am going to miss all of my friends down here when I leave here in a few weeks. I have went to Mendoza Argentina, Vina Del Mar Chile, Canete Chile and those are just to mane a few cities. The people down here on the base have changed my life and I have also changed theirs equally. I will be a different Kyle than you knew when I return. They have liked that I can drive because not thqat many people can drive here so they have me drive a lot. I want to say thanks for the prayers while I am on this mission trip down here.

Who is God? ¿Quién es Dios?

He is the Alpha and Omega,
The walk to my feet,
The water to my life.
He is the voice of the voices,
The sight for our eyes,
The life to my bread.
He is the touch to my hands,
A pickup when I fall down,
The warmth to my body.
He is the shine in the Sun,
And the diamond in the rough.
He is the breath to the breathless,
The father to the fathers,
The flight to birds.
God is the beat to my life.
This is my God.

Donations. Donaciones.

Hi, I am writing this email for my friends due to they do know English. I am I'm a YWAM class called DTS. We are just about to finish up our class. My DTS class is going on a outreach mission to Brazil. Most of the people in this class spent up to 1000 USD and 6 days via buss to get here for the class. Last night we were told that the mission outreach is going to cost 700 USD per person. We have roughly 15 people going and none of them have the money. I am asking you to pray about this and feel if you think God is asking you to tithe your money this week to this YWAM mission group to help bring the word of our Lord Jesus Christ to the people of Brazil. Any money would be a blessing. Please let me know if you would be interested in helping out my friends on their outreach for our Lord.
Thanks a lot,

Muchas gracias,

Chile Day 17: DTS or EDE

I just want to let all of my family and readers know that I will not be able to keep up my daily post. There is a program here called EDE (DTS). I was thinking, praying and talking to people. I feel that it is a good use of my time to take this class. This class is an all day 5 day a week class and a little on weekends. I moved from where I was staying to a smaller house that I share with 2 Chileans, 1 Peruvian, 1 Ecuadorian, 1 Brazilian and me. They all speak Spanish and the Brazilian speaks Portuguese also. I am the only one who speaks English. It is a little bit difficult to communicate with them in Spanish but I am learning faster than ever now. I like this discipleship class so far. It is a nice class. There is someone in it who also speaks English so she translates a little for me.

Chile Day 15: Curcus and Grandfather

Today was Sunday so we went to a different church where the family from New Zealand was going to give the talk at. He did a great job at the talk. The church was all Spanish speaking so there was a translator. That evening we had lasagna with the visiting family. Afterwards, us and one Chilean went to the nearby Chinese Circus. It was about average. I heard this afternoon/evening that my grandfather had went in earlier in the morning for emergency gall bladder surgery. This is life threatening to him because he is 85 and has had serious abominable surgery before. Please keep him in your prayers.

Chile Day 14: Two weeks

Well This is the mark of being here in Chile for 2 weeks. We had 2 visitors from New Zealand drop by for dinner today. We also went toe the Lider to go and shop for some food for today. I am posting this a day later because I was getting a movie ready to watch with everyone and we lost power. We were not the only ones who lost power. 10 million people lost power in Chile. More than 2/3 of the country was in a blackout. The electricity came back up about 3 hrs later during our movie. But it left us without Internet or Water until the morning.

Chile Day 13

Today I worked setting up some rooms for a conference thing. In the afternoon I cleaned some rooms. That evening I went to a going away/birthday party. We had some great tacos and some good drinks and cake. Late that night we had another party. We had dancing and karaoke. I love to dance the Salsa. They had me sing a Brittany Spears song in English and the theme song to Titanic in Spanish. I did better in Spanish. Then we went back to dancing till 2 Sat morning. It was a late night.

Chile Day 12

Today I went with the family when they went to school. When I got back I went with Mrs. Fought to go and clean a room for someone nicknames the “Kiwis” who were coming in from New Zealand. After that I joined the guys and worked some more. After lunch we went to go and pick up them at school. When we came back we played a small game of soccer with the Colombians and other people that usually don't play soccer. After dinner they have a weekly family meeting for everyone on the base. At the meeting there was lots of food and bread which is a plus.

Chile Day 10

Today went smoothly. I went the the Foughts to drop them off at school. Then I went on to go to Jack's to do some computer work for him. After that we went back home for lunch and to get Rhyan. After lunch we went to go do some shopping before picking up the rest from school. We got to the school and played for a while then we went back home. We played soccer again from 6-8. I also had a nice conversation with my family back home via skype tonight.

Chile Day 9

Well today we all slept in really late. After lunch 12 of us from the Mission went to "Parque O'Higgins." It was really crowded there. It took us about 45 minutes just to get off the metro. It was completely packed. You were almost herded. About halfway thru some military jets did a fly-by and shook the overpass then everyone started to move faster in a crowed place. The military was also having a parade which had a large crowd. We were supposed to meet a friend there. It took us a while to find her because of the crowds. We spent a while there. Minus the crows of people it was fun to walk around.

Chile Day 8:

Today we went to church in downtown Santiago Chile. On the way back we got to drive by the Chile version of the White House. This evening we had some more "Dieciocho" activates. After the activates some friends and I went to the girls hut. We had some apple/pear cobbler and drank soda. Late that night we decided to watch a movie. We finished at about 1 something in the morning. We were all very tired.
Us playing a card game that involves markers. It was fun.

Saturday, September 17, 2011

Chile Day 7:

Today was a relax-full day. Jack and Jason from another church came over for breakfast in the morning. In the afternoon there was another "Dieciocho" celebration. We played lots of games again. We also played volleyball for a few hours.

Chile Photos

I will be posting some of my photos of Chile on my blog posts. Also you can view more including some videos here. These photos I have not edited so there might me some duplicates, etc.

Chile Day 6:

Well today was a lot of fun. I went to Ethan's school and they were celebrating "Dieciocho". We had some Chilean breakfast foods and lunch foods. Afterwards we played "hocker". It is a cross between mostly soccer, hockey and basketball. After that Ethan, some of his friends and I went to the mall. We all had to squish into a car. We had lots of fun walking around at the mall. We also went to a local park down the road.

Chile Day 5:

Well today was a lazy day. Everyone as recovering from last night. I worked again today planting some bushes and mowing. After working most of the day the guys went out to play a game of soccer from 6-8PM. This is no ordinary soccer game. the losing team is allowed to get physical with their opponent and shove and trip a little bit. I came out of the game with a banged up elbow.

Chile Day 4: Dieciocho

Well today was an exciting day. At 4:35AM a 5.9 earthquake hit. It lasted 32 seconds and shook everything a lot. There was not much damage. In the morning I worked again to prepare for “Dieciocho”. At roughly 1:30PM the whole village of 70 or so sat down for some food. They had some really good food and some special Chilean like burrito sandwich. After food there were games thought the afternoon until about 5:15M. We had about 45 minutes to prepare and cleanup and change for the evening activates. Tonight we had some more food and later in the night some people danced the Cueca. Then we had more food. After that there was an after-party at the boys hut. It was too cold there to do anything so we went to the "Solon". Most of the guys asked out many of the girls. I asked out one of the Colombian girls. I had a blast at the after-party. She taught me most of the local dances. It was extremely fun. We started at about 7 and went till midnight.

Here are some photos.

Chile Day 3

Well tomorrow the Mission that I am staying at is celebrating "Dieciocho de Septiembre". That day is their independence day. They celebrate all week long. Today I worked with 2 girls from Colombia, one boy from Mexico, and 6 people from Chile. We setup a structure to have the event in. On the sides we places large branches of some local evergreen trees. We also set up some tables and put up some decorations. That took most of the day. In the evening from like 5-8 we played a epic game of soccer. We played on a soccer field/cow pasture. So as you can guess we well stepped in it and the ball went in it a lot.

Chile Day 2: School

Well today I went to the School that the family I am staying with. I sat in their Government class. After that I went to one of the teachers apartments and played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. During lunch we all played soccer. After school we played some more soccer. At the school  I had a small conversation with someone who only spoke Spanish. It was not extremely hared because he spoke nice and slow. We also went to a Chilean version of Wal-mart. I am able to tell for the most part what the stuff is by some of the words and items.

Want Windows 8 On Your Computer? Get Mosaic

Who likes the new look of Windows 8? I do. If you want your Windows PC to look more like it download Mosaic Desktop. This program will make your PC look more like a Windows 8 PC. Mosaic is not Windows 8 at all but it is good eye candy. When you originally start up Mosaic you have a few tiles, but you can go to the Mosaic store to install new tiles. Some examples of the tiles that you can down load are: weather, your currently playing music, upcoming Google Calendar events, new Gmail messages, and more. It would make a nice Start page for simple email and calendar checking.
Mosaic Desktop is a free download for Windows only.
